In 1992, just after graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage,AK. Bossard began her commercial seafood career in 1999 when she started working aboard the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65' schooner that was converted into an ice-fish tender was owned by Murat Aritan. The fisherman has been in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard who is engaged to Aritan she has joined forces in order to claim their industries. Both are advocates of conservation and profiting from sustainable resources within the industry of seafood. She and her husband are separated by five months, plus more to allow her to focus on her financial goals and environmental concerns.
